This Group F clash between one of European football's top nations and a country with around 330,000 citizens will be a fascinating game of two fairy-tales. The first, is how Iceland has risen from nowhere to take their deserved place at Euro 2016, while Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo will be aiming to write his own folklore by winning a first-ever international title with his country. Can the man dubbed CR7 be able to take Portugal all the way? Or will Iceland's magical run continue to enthrall the world over.
Cristiano Ronaldo is the X Factor in this game and the fact Eidur Gudjohnsen is still playing for Iceland tells you all you need to know. Portugal were very comfortable against England at Wembley and if Ronaldo had played in that game they would have won.
- Portugal and Iceland commence Group F bids with their third meeting
- Portuguese won both previous matches, in UEFA EURO 2012 qualifying
- Cristiano Ronaldo set to win his 127th cap, equalling Luís Figo's Portugal record
- Icelanders are making their major tournament debut
- Iceland is smallest nation to grace a major finals (population 330,000).
